I'm Jess!
Hoburne Hounds and Furry Friends has been formed out of a genuine love of animals and a secret desire to run a zoo!
I have spent over 20 years teaching in the local area and have been a Head of Subject and Head of Year, with significant leadership responsibilities in secondary school. Alongside the demands of the teaching profession, I always had my favourite fur companions by my side and found joy in the theraputic time animals can bring. I always toyed with the idea of setting up my own dog walking and pet sitting business and gained experience informally through looking after friends and family pets. In seeking a better work life balance, it was a pleasure to formalise Hoburne Hounds and Furry Friends and find more time to share our great local area with fur pals.
I am professional, highly organised, compassionate, calm and an excellent communicator; great in a classroom and just as applicable in running my own business independently!
Learning and development is in my DNA and so I will always be found studying and completing practical courses to enrich my skills that I can bring to animals that are in my care.

- Regular attendance of training courses provided by the Canine Behaviour College (most recent including 'Reactivity Training Challenge'
- Currently completing certification with the Cambridge Institute of Dog Behaviour and Training in 'Professional Dog Handling and Training'
- Awaiting confirmation of membership to the Dog Walkers and Sitters Association
